PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

DEVELOPMENT OF A DETAILED BIM MODEL (LOD 300) FOR A LARGE 15,000-SEAT SPORTS ARENA BASED ON LIDAR SCAN DATA.

PROJECT SOLUTION:

WE UNDERTOOK THE COMPLEX TASK OF MODELING A LARGE 15,000-SEAT SPORTS ARENA USING LIDAR SCAN DATA. THE EXISTING INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR CONDITIONS WERE THOROUGHLY CAPTURED USING THE NAVVIS LIDAR SYSTEM, ALONG WITH DRONES FOR THE EXTERIOR SHELL AND ROOF. WE DEVELOPED A HIGHLY DETAILED REVIT MODEL (LOD 300) OF THE ARENA, INCLUDING THE BOWL, ALL SEATING, ROOF STEEL STRUCTURE, CATWALK, AND DOCK AREA.
TO STREAMLINE THE MODELING PROCESS, WE ESTABLISHED A COLLABORATIVE COMMON DATA ENVIRONMENT (CDE), ENABLING MULTIPLE TEAM MEMBERS TO WORK ON THE MODEL SIMULTANEOUSLY, REDUCING THE OVERALL DEVELOPMENT TIMEFRAME. WE ORGANIZED THE MODEL USING WORKSETS AND LINKED FILES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DESIGN TEAM'S BIM STANDARDS.PROJECT LOCATION: USA, SOUTH CAROLINA
